![]() ![]() ![]() The real party trick on the 1965 T-Bird was, of course, the sequential taillights. This ’64 Landau has the “Thunderbird” script on the front fender rather than the rear quarter panel, “Thunderbird” lettering on the hood (compared to a stylized bird), and unique-to-1964 wheel covers. I picked this one up at a junkyard years ago, perhaps in the hope that I’d eventually buy a car to attach it to.įrom the outside, it takes a connoisseur to differentiate the ’65 from the previous year’s model. If that weren’t enough, the brake pedal is simply cool. If nothing else, it’s more readily available than the troublesome (in my experience) box used only in 1961-1964 Thunderbirds and Continentals. Second, the 1965 model received a steering gear revision to more closely resemble the box used in full-sized Fords (according to my research). Lest anyone thinks this is operator error, please remember that I have six other four-wheel-drum-braked old cars with which to compare. I have no problem with drum brakes, and seven of my eight cars use four-wheel drums nevertheless, the T-Bird’s are touchy and prone to front lockup in hard-stopping situations, especially at low speeds. The 1965 model has, after all, some empirical improvements over my ’63, not the least of which is the upgrade to front disc brakes, a couple years before they became common on General Motors products. This Greenlight ’65 Special Landau, however, is a symbol of my long-simmering reappraisal of this bodystyle. For years, I was lukewarm on the 1963 version’s follow up, the Flair Birds of 1964-1966. The ’63 Thunderbird (and all “Bullet Birds”) has been my favorite T-Bird for decades, so I can’t regret my eventual purchase of that car (maybe the certain car I bought, but that’s often the case). What if?Īs usual, a recent toy purchase has had the mature effect of putting me in a certain frame of mind, one of reflecting on cars bought and missed. But what if I never bought that ’63 Thunderbird? Or that ’63 Riviera? A very decent Emberglo-colored ’65 T-Bird Special Landau recently popped up on one of those auction sites, sold for an entirely reasonable amount, and might have made me as happy as anything. My car mistakes aren’t really mistakes anymore because any accrued wisdom I possess is enough to understand the potential for shadows lurking in corners of the garage. Anyone else in the room question your decisions after the fact? Wish you could go back and tell yourself, “Told you so!”? Eh, that sounds good rhetorically, but realistically any vacillating I do in retrospect is all for show. ![]() ![]() During installation, you can choose whether to install all the program files (standard install) or portions of the program (custom install). To install FileMaker Pro Advanced, you must have macOS administrator privileges and use an administrator account and password.See FileMaker Pro Advanced technical specifications. The Via Maris, or “Way of the Sea,” ran up the coast from Egypt, turned inland just south of present-day Haifa and Mount Carmel, followed an important pass through the hills, and then dropped into the Plain of Esdraelon. One of the most important highways of antiquity passed through the valley. Fifteen miles wide at its greatest breadth, the valley of Esdraelon (its Greek name is still used today) is flanked on the north by the Nazareth ridge and on the south by Mount Carmel, Mount Gilboa, and the hills of Samaria. It runs from the Bay of Haifa on the northern coast in a southeast direction to the River Jordan. (I-2) Significance of the Name Armageddon The prophets speak for themselves this summary is provided only to guide your study of the prophetic sources, not to become the subject of your study itself. ![]() The information in the scriptures was given by the prophets. Let us now examine what the prophetic record reveals, leaving out all unsubstantiated speculation and discussion. All of them speak of it and when that time comes, the Lord is going to come out of His hiding place.” ( The Signs of the Times, p. 170.) We find Joel, Zephaniah, Zechariah, all proclaiming that in this last day, the day when the sun shall be darkened and the moon turned to blood and the stars fall from heaven, that the nations of the earth would gather against Jerusalem. Here you will find Isaiah saying the Lord will pour out war upon all the world Jeremiah saying the same thing and speaking of these terrible things Daniel saying so Ezekiel saying so. Elder Joseph Fielding Smith, after quoting from several of these prophets, said: “Now I have read these passages of Scripture from these various prophets. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah, John, Joseph Smith, and others have all talked about the battle and the events associated with it. It is not surprising, considering its great importance in the winding-up scenes of the earth’s telestial existence, to find that the prophets, ancient and modern, have spoken at great lengths and in much detail about this final war that will usher in the Millennium. How much is known of this great event in the world’s history? How much of what is heard can be believed? Have the prophets really spoken that much about it? What about modern prophets? Have they too spoken of it? Where does it get its name? It has created a host of speculations and much embellishment that is not scriptural. The very name conjures up pictures of vast armies, horrible suffering, and widespread devastation. Armageddon! The name has inspired books, movies, and an almost endless amount of commentary. ![]() |
